It started when we came to the rural area in West Java six years ago.
we found that many social problems are happened there, especially women’s rights.
where most of the women are still underestimate. They are forced into young marriages by the system, they do not get their walfare, freedom to reach out their dreams of life.
The society assume that women do not need to have a high level of education because they think that women will only stay at home with their housewife responsibilities to take care of the family and the kitchen.
Other than that, They live in a society that is far from prosperous.
Their daily income is only enough to fulfill their daily food needs, and the lack of awwarnes affects the lack of drive and desire to get out of poverty.
These things have an impact on why women do not have the freedom to develop, the lack of quality education and the lack of awareness about the protection of the environment and the optimal use of natural resources.
This is a challenge and an encouragement for us to guide and change their mindsets. The conscience leads us to take a part of their life to help them to get out of the situation through our community. As our steps to bring better impact for women’s rights, education quality for society and environment, we built Rumah Sahabat Arae Foundation.
Our steps brought us further to build women’s community as a space for them to grow, to get their right and welfare education by focusing on three main points of women, education, and environment through conservation programme to take care of the mother earth, non-formal school and social economy programme by giving them life-skill training. We have been running this community for 9 years, Sahabat Arae Company was set-up because we needed financial support to run the community and programmes.
